Snooki Gets Punched Scene Pulled From “Jersey Shore”

2

MTV will not air a scene from its controversial reality series Jersey Shore where cast member Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is sucker-punched in the face by a drunken schoolteacher. After hearing from viewers and consulting with experts on the issue of violence, MTV has decided not to air the clip.

The clip — which has since been yanked from YouTube — featured “Snooki’s” head flying back after she was violently struck by a male at a bar in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.

Snooki Punched Scene Pulled

“What happened to ‘Snooki’ was a crime and obviously extremely disturbing,” MTV said in a statement late Friday. “After hearing from our viewers, further consulting with experts on the issue of violence, and seeing how the video footage has been taken out of context to not show the severity of this act or the resulting consequences, MTV has decided not to air ‘Snooki’ being physically punched in next week’s episode.”

The network still plans to air a domestic violence PSA following the episode on Thursday.

    Doesn't make sense.

Because "the video footage has been taken out of context to not show the severity of this act or the resulting consequences," MTV isn't going to show us the context, the severity, or the resulting consequences.
