Chris Kattan: There’s a name you don’t hear very often. Unless, of course, you happen to spot it in the credits of one of those dastardly ION Original Movies.
The former Saturday Night Live star — whose last big role came in the 2008 TV movie Holiday Heist — is facing charges of driving under the influence after police in Encino, California. Cops arrested Kattan, 43, early Monday, shortly after he reportedly crashed his Mercedes into a maintenance truck on the 101 Freeway.
Police were tipped off when a motorist called 911 to report a “Mercedes was weaving all over the roadway at slow speeds.” A short time later, Kattan’s Mercedes smashed into a Department of Transportation vehicle that was parked on the shoulder of the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Kattan was not injured in the collision and was able to exit the car just in time to be slapped in handcuffs. He was booked at the nearby Van Nuys Jail and subsequently released on a $15,000 bond. A court date has yet been set.
Fun fact: News of the arrest comes the same weekend that Kattan’s Night at the Roxbury co-star, Will Ferrell, won the box office with Lego Movie. The animated comedy took in an estimate $69 million in ticket sales.
