Sit Down, Because ‘Pumpkin Spice Hair’ Is Now A Thing

You may want to sit down for this one.

Fall is now in full swing, so the ubiquitous pumpkin spice has seen endless expression, whether it’s the classic and pioneer of the movement, Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte, or one of the other infinite permutations of the trend. Everything from cookies to ice cream, dog treats and pudding have been given a pumpkin spice makeover for the season, and now, you can literally get made over by pumpkin spice.

There’s a new hair trend calling itself “Pumpkin Spice Hair” and even though the name is ridiculous, it’s actually sort of beautiful. It’s so named because the ‘do creates a complex red-toned color combination by dyeing the hair different shades of red and orange. Rich copper, burgundy, amber and ginger tones are woven into the shape of the hair, sometimes in balayage, sometimes in ombre, and sometimes in the form of full-head highlights.

The style can range in color from very light, strawberry-blonde hair to a warm, rich brunette with red undertones. The result is a dynamic, light-catching hairstyle that’s perfect for the fall season.

Check out some of the best examples of this hair trend below, and try not to let its unfortunate terminology keep you from trying it out. Or, if you adore everything pumpkin spice, you may be even more eager to ask your stylist for this look!

What do you think of this hair trend? Absolutely insane, or surprisingly pretty?
