Gold medal-winning gymnast Shawn Johnson can add dance champ to her list accolades. The Olympic champion sailed to the top of leaderboard winning the eighth season of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars on Tuesday night.

At 17, Shawn is the youngest contestant to ever take home the mirrorball trophy.

Shawn and her professional partner, Mark Ballas, were tied with fellow finalist Gilles Marini and his partner Cheryl Burke for the win as Tuesday night’s finale entered its final hour. Ultimately, viewer votes were combined with judges’ scores to determine the Dancing champ. Host Tom Bergeron said “less than one percent” separated the two finalists

The Bachelor’s Melissa Rycroft — a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, who was a standout on the dancefloor this season — finished in third place.
