Shaniya Davis Found Dead After Being Sold Into Child Prostitution
(This isn’t really celebrity gossip, but it’s an awful story that should be told nonetheless….)The body of five-year-old Shaniya Nicole Davis, who was reported missing nearly week ago, has been found alongside a North Carolina highway near her hometown according to ABC News. Acting on a tip received Sunday police in Fayetteville, NC found Shaniya’s body dumped along Walker Road, off N.C. Highway 87, early Monday, said Fayetteville Police spokeswoman Theresa Chance.
Shaniya was first reported missing from her home by her mother last Tuesday morning. On Friday, her mother’s live-in boyfriend, Mario Andrette McNeill, 29, was charged with first-degree kidnapping. Late Saturday, her mother, Antoinette Nicole Davis, 25, was arrested on accusations that she prostituted her daughter.
Davis has also been charged with numerous felonies including human trafficking, child abuse involving prostitution, filing a false police report and resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer.
Shaniya’s dad, Bradley Lockhart says he raised the five-year-old for a number of years, but after the Davis recently got a new job and a new home, decided to let the little girl move in with her mother.
