Beyonce is appearing in her first ad campaign for soft drink giant Pepsi. Looking very Andy Warhol, if we should be so bold, the image finds the singer in a variety of pop art-esque portraits accompanied by a can of cola.
Pepsi announced its $50 million deal with Queen Beysus in December. Mrs. Carter succeeds pop royalty like Michael Jackson and Britney Spears as the latest trailblazer to join the Pepsi fold.
The “Love on Top” songbird will front the brand’s “Live for Now” campaign; complete with a limited edition line of cans emblazoned with her famous face. The cans will debut in Europe in March.
Beyonce’s performance at February’s 2013 Super Bowl 2013 Halftime Show was sponsored by the cola brand. Pepsi is expected to be the official sponsor of many of Beyonce concerts. The company will also help to promote the star’s forthcoming fifth studio solo album, which is being eyed for release this summer.
