Scarlett Johansson Named Esquire’s “Sexiest Woman Alive” for Second Time
Here’s something you don’t see everyday: Esquire magazine has named actress Scarlett Johansson their 2013 “Sexiest Woman Alive” — for the second time.
The Avengers star was also given the title in 2006, making her the first woman to take the crown twice:
“I’m the only woman to win twice, right? You know, I gotta hustle. I’m a 28-year-old woman in the movie business, right? Pretty soon the roles you’re offered all become mothers. Then they just sort of stop. I have to hedge against that with work-theater, producing; this thing with Esquire.”
For now, the “hustle” appears to be paying off: Johansson recently wrapped work on the Broadway revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. She’s currently starring in the independent hit Don Jon with Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
She recently got engaged to former French journalist Romain Dauriac. The marriage will be ScarJo’s second, following her divorce from actor Ryan Reynolds in 2010. She says the union has brought out a new side of her:
“I didn’t think I was a jealous person, until I started dating my current, my one-and-only. I think maybe in the past I didn’t have the same kind of investment. Not that I liked my partner less, I just wasn’t capable of it or caring that much.”
