“Save ‘Samantha Who?’” Petition
Christina Applegate is pushing an online petition to bring her ABC comedy back from the dead. Last week, The Alphabet Network brought down the axe on Samantha Who? after a season of low ratings and fans are coming up with innovative ways to have their voices heard by the network.
Christina — who fought breast cancer while working on the show last year — has posted a link to the petition on her Twitter various times this weekend; she’s hoping to convince ABC executives to bring Samantha back for another season.
“I want 10,000 signatures by Monday. Am I being greedy?” she writes on her page.
Samantha Who? began airing on Monday nights — after Dancing With The Stars — in 2007. It was a ratings success. After scheduling changes, the ratings began to suffer. Some fans have noted that they were not aware of the show’s change to Thursday nights, due to ABC’s lack of promotion.
The petition will be sent to ABC Studios. It currently has nearly 2,500 signatures.

I hope ABC rethinks canceling Samantha Who. My daughter and I love watching this program, it’s something we looked forward to. I typically don’t watch sitcoms but this was definitely worth my time. It’s clever and fun and the acting is terrific. The cast works so well together. Of all the garbage that’s on television why would they cut this delightful comedy.
