Comedienne Sarah Silverman was heckled during her UK stand-up debut in London on Sunday night.

After a painfully 40-minute set, the star of The Sarah Silverman Program admitted she was out of material, telling the massive crowd who had filled London’s Hammerstein Apollo Theater in anticipation of her performance, “That’s it, I’ve shot my load.”

Well let’s just say the short routine didn’t go over very well. According to the BBC, Sarah’s set was followed by a succession of loud booing as audience members jeered and shouted that they wanted their money back.

Fans fumed about the gig on British blogs on Monday.

“I’ve never been to a more sad-sack performance in my life - if you can’t produce a single slice of new material, then don’t put on a show in the first place,” says one audience, who identified himself only as “Rob.”

“When the lights went up, I thought it was a joke, and when she was cajoled into coming back onto the stage it was almost embarrassing - utterly pathetic.”
