Sarah Palin has taken her feud with late night TV’s David Letterman to the morning talk show circuit.
The Alaska governor says the host of CBS’ The Late Show owes young women an apology for a crack he made about statutory rape and her underage daughter.
“He doesn’t have to apologize to me. I would like to see him to apologize to young women across the country for contributing to that thread throughout our culture that makes it seem OK to talk about … statutory rape. It’s not cool and it’s not funny,” Palin bitched remarked in an interview with The TODAY Show’s Matt Lauer.
When Matt reminded Palin that Letterman clarified on Wednesday’s show that he wasn’t talking about her 14-year-old daughter Willow, but was instead targeting 18-year-old single mom Bristol, the governor snapped, “I would say that you and anybody else are extremely naïve to believe David Letterman’s very extremely convenient excuse. … No wonder young girls have such low self esteem when we think it’s funny for a so-called comedian to make a remark like he did and think it’s acceptable.”

The reason that letterboy said what he did was because he couldn’t stand the fact that Palin drew over 20,000 in Auburn, got a warm reception by 12,000 at the Autism walk, and received an award from Independent Group Home Living Foundation. Essentially, he wanted to change the subject so he first called Palin a slut, and then went after her 14 year old daughter. Letterboy is pathetic, and the Palins have every right to be offended by the jerk.
Palin is right, letterboy does owe my granddaughters, and all girls an apology

I can not believe that Palin is not being supported by other women. I am a man and can see that the comments directed to her daugthers (it dosen’t mater which one) were outrageous. I can let the slutty comment slide even thou it was uncalled for; but going after her childern 14 or 18 is unacceptible. Not to mention his so called apology was more for him to make another joke then actually accept reasponcibilty for what he said on the air. Is it really ok to be so non-shalount about sex with children under the guise of a joke “NO!” If his rating need this kind of hummor then it is time for CBS to find fresh tatlent.

Drawing 20,000 at Auburn – wow, big standard for this wackjob. Limbaugh and Hannity have said way worse, but they’re exempt because they’re GOP, right?

Jeb,
When has Rush or Hannity ever made a joke about having sex with minors? I will stand corrected if you can send me a link showing this. I can’t image that there is much worse than this. Quit trying to compare apples to organes.

“One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game came during the seventh inning,” Letterman said. “Her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.”
===================
The joke wasn’t about an actual case of statutory rape.
It was an absurd concept that one of Sarah Palin’s daughter was “knocked up” while watching a Yankees game with her mother.
The joke is based on absurdity.
I don’t find it offensive.

Palin says that Letterman’s joke leads to women being mistreated as sex objects. I wonder if he made a joke about about her older daughter and that is why she had her baby out of wedlock? Maybe Palin shouldn’t throw stones in that big Alaskan house she lives in overlooking Russia.

I think that it is just sad that David Letterman has nothing better to do than joke about governer Palin and her family. I guess I am biased in the situation, because I am all for Sarah Palin! Palin for President 2012! I would think that Alex Rodriquez would be offended too! Rape is an awful crime, and joking about it or being “knocked up” is sad! It doesn’t matter who he was talking about. It could have been any young girl and it would have stil been wrong. Just to say that he was referring to Bristol doesn’t make it any better! Oh! and, please, it is sad that we are still joking about the statement Palin made about Russia, but I guess there is nothing better to joke about huh? It was wrong for Letterman to say what he said, and he should apologize for it. The Palin’s have every right to be upset about it!

There is plenty to joke about Tim. Starting with Palin in 2012. That’s a good one!
