Supporters of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin are organizing a Fire David Letterman Rally that will take place in New York City on Tuesday. Palin fans are still on edge over a sexually-charged barb the late night host made on last Monday night’s show, which they claim was targeted at Palin’s underage daughter.

The protest will be held outside Manhattan’s famed Ed Sullivan Theater, where Dave films CBS’ The Late Show, and is part of a larger campaign urging viewers to to boycott the show and its advertisers.

“David Letterman’s disgraceful comments were a violation of standards of common decency. They were as bad as the comments Don Imus made that caused CBS to fire him in 2007. CBS needs to apply the same standards to David Letterman they applied to Don Imus,” says Anna Barone, who worked for Hillary Clinton’s Presidential Campaign before heading up the anti-Letterman Movement @ FireDavidLetterman.com.

They should be protesting against Sarah Palin.

She’s the one with a policy of charging rape victims for the rape kits, when she was mayor of Wasilla, Alaska.

I don’t think Dave should’ve apologized. I personally would welcome a bunch of sign-carryin’ idiots protesting the Letterman show. They could have a camera guy down there getting all the good comments. It would give everyone a lot of material and insight into the minds of these morally superior creatures.

i think it was wrong for dave letterman to make a dirty joke about a fourteen year old child. She is not fair game just because her mother is a politician. shame on him.

Dave did not make a joke about the 14 year old. Palin said it was at the 14 year old which if you watch the show you would know it was not at the 14 year old. If you watch the show and hear all the jokes you would never think it was at the 14 year old. I heard the joke the night he said it and I always knew it was for the 18 year old.

What do you think?
