Politics’ favorite pitbull in lipstick is stepping onto a new stage: Sarah Palin’s travelogue docu-series, Sarah Palin’s Alaska, will premiere on TLC later this year, Discovery Communications, which owns the cable network, announced on Thursday.
Produced by Mark Burnett — whose other credits include Survivor and The Apprentice — the weekly, eight-part series will feature stories about Alaska told from the perspective of former state governor and native daughter Palin.
Discovery reportedly won a $1 million per episode bidding war for the series with A&E.
“Our family enjoys Discovery’s networks,” Palin said in a press statement this morning. “I look forward to working with Mark to bring the wonder and majesty of Alaska to all Americans.”
