Samantha Geimer, Roman Polanski Rape Victim, Wants Charges Dropped
The woman at the center of the Roman Polanski statutory rape case is pleading with a California appellate court to drop the charges against the legendary lensman, because she just wants to be “left alone.”

The Los Angeles Times reports that Samantha Geimer, who was only 13 when she was drugged and sexually assaulted at Jack Nicholson Hollywood mansion in 1997, has had her family, job, and health disrupted in the wake of the media firestorm that followed Polanski’s arrest in Switzerland last month.
Lawrence Silver, an attorney for Geimer, penned a statement that claims that both he and the victim, now lives in Hawaii, have received almost 500 phone calls from media.
“This statement makes one more demand, one more request, one more plea: Leave her alone.”
Polanski — whose filmography includes Chinatown, Rosemary’s Baby, and The Pianist — who fled the U.S. to France after his guilty plea more than 30 years ago, is currently being held in Switzerland and fighting U.S. extradition.
