Sam Worthington is about thisclose to morphing into Russell Crowe.

We’re stil trying to decide if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

Sam’s earned a reputation “The Next Russell Crowe” — thanks to a string of grunt-heavy, muscle-popping turns in blockbusters like Clash and Wrath of the Titans. It seems the Avatar hunk is following the same path as his fellow Australian off screen too.

Worthy’s latest news-worthy incident — a scuffle with a doorman outside a restaurant in Atlanta that got him pepper sprayed and arrested — wouldn’t be out of place in an encyclopedia of Crowe’s infamous clashes with the law.

It all started when Sam tried to gain entry into The Vortex Restaurant, an upscale ATL establishment, only to be turned away because he did not have proper identification and was deemed too intoxicated. Witnesses told police that Worthington then began pushing security guards. He was eventually subdued with pepper spray, put into cuffs and charged with disorderly conduct.

Worthington is in the Southern city shooting the film Ten with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
