“Glee” Creator Ryan Murphy Top Choice To Direct “Annie” Remake

We already know who Willow Smith wants to play her Daddy Warbucks (Hint: One-half of the celeb duo Brangelina…), but you’ll never guess the Gleetastic producer Will Smith’s Overbrook Entetainment/Sony Pictures are eyeing to direct the tween in her upcoming remake of the Broadway gem-turned-movie musical Annie.

We hear Hollywood bosses are willing to “bet their bottom dollar” that Ryan Murphy, creator of the Emmy-winning TV musical-comedy Glee (and the guy who famously told Glee-hatin’ rockers Kings of Leon to kiss his grits), is just the man to step behind the lens for the Annie reboot. According Deadline Hollywood, Murphy is the studio’s top choice to helm the upcoming movie. It’s worth noting that though Ryan is perhaps best know for his television credits, his past big screen work includes Julia Roberts’ Eat Pray Love and the 2006 film Running With Scissors.
