Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte wasn’t kidding when he vowed to splash onto the small screen after taking gold at this summer’s London games. The diver will make a guest-starring appearance in an episode of the upcoming fifth season of The CW’s teen drama 90210, TV Line said Tuesday.
The five-time gold medalist will make a cameo as a guest at a resort where Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) and Max (Josh Zuckerman) are staying to “strengthen their relationship,” according to series producers Patti Carr and Lara Olsen.
“When we found out Ryan Lochte was going to be in town and might appear on 90210, we felt like we’d won a gold medal! Team USA are all-stars in our book and we’re so excited he’s making an appearance on the show. We only wish the episode was a surf event so we could have gotten him in the water, but he deserves a little rest on dry land.”
Lochte has been flooded with offers from various reality shows since his stellar Olympics showing.
The Rochester native has even been chatting with producers of Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor.
“I cannot tell you the exact shows, but two different reality-show concepts have been offered and one additional is being discussed,” the 28-year-old athlete’s representative, Erika Wright, told The Hollywood Reporter last week. “I can say things have been quite busy for team Lochte, heating up fast and furious since the Olympics.”
Set your DVRs: Ryan’s 90210 appearance will air Monday, Oct. 29 (8 p.m. ET/PT) on The CW.
