The family of accused killer Ryan Jenkins are still in shock over the reality star’s weekend suicide following the murder of his former wife Jasmine Fiore.

Ryan rose to fame after appearances on the recently-cancelled VH1 reality shows Megan Wants A Millionaire and I Love Money 3. The self-made millionaire met and married Fiore, a former model, in Las Vegas last March 18. The brief marriage was annulled a short time later.

Earlier this month, Fiore’s badly mutilated body — sans fingers and teeth — was found stuffed in a suitcase and discarded in a dumpster in Buena Park, California.

Ryan was facing charges in connection with the slaying, but his dad, Dan Jenkins, an architect from Calgary, Canada, refuses to believe that the “boy” he raised could be responsible for such a heinous crime. The older Jenkins recounts a major shift in his son’s personality after the 32-year-old investment banker moved to Los Angeles last year.

Yeah — we’re sure the mystery of whatever allegedly turned Ryan into a homicidal loon lie somewhere on the sandy beaches of California.

“If my son was guilty, he was crazy. He was not the boy we knew. The boy we knew was not capable of anything remotely close to this act,” Dan Jenkins told The Los Angeles Times of the former reality show contestant on Tuesday. “You talk to everyone here who knew him before he went down there and they’ll talk about a wonderful young man, a thoughtful man.”
