The Raptors were once at the top of the Eastern Conference, but have been slipping since, while the Thunder have been working their way back into the playoff race after having both Wesbrook and Kevin Durant out due to injury.
In last night’s game against the Raptors, Westbrook recorded an impressive stat line with 30 points, matched his career high with 17 assists, and picked up 11 rebounds. He continues to do everything possible on the court, and prove why he was the MVP at the 2015 All-Star Game.
Russell Westbrook recorded his seventh triple-double of the season, and 15th of his career, elevating his game to a new level. His numbers have been going up, and since the All-Star break, he has been averaging 34.3 points, 10.2 rebounds and 11.4 assists.
Following the win, The Thunder remain in 8th place in the Western Conference, but they are only 5 games behind the Clippers, Mavericks, and Spurs. However, the Thunder will need to continue this streak as the Pelicans are right behind them in 9th place and one game behind.
The All-Star point guard’s performance helped the Thunder to another win, and they have won 7 of their past 10. In addition to Westbrook, Enes Kanter added 21 points and 12 points, while Serge Ibaka added 21 points and five blocks.
Russell Wesbrook’s Thunder will host the Los Angeles Clippers in their next game on Wednesday, and although the Clippers are currently in 5th place, they are on a 2-game losing streak. Can the Thunder win another and stay in the race for the NBA playoffs?
