Roman Polanski Child-Sex Charge Dismissal Petition

Director Roman Polanski is requesting that the 30-year-old child-sex charge against him be dismissed, says the Associated Press.
Lawyers for R.P. say a documentary film about the director has exposed “misconduct and improper communications” between the judge and prosecutors involved in his case.
The Polish-born filmmaker fled the United States for Europe in 1978 after he was charged with having sex with a 13-year-old girl.
Despite his status as a fugitive from justice, Polanski’s 2003 film The Pianist won an Academy Award.
