Set your calendars, Morning Show Stans: Beloved ABC anchorwoman Robin Roberts will return to the set of Good Morning America on Feb. 20.
In June, Roberts was diagnosed with MDS, a blood and bone marrow disease that developed after chemotherapy treatment for Robin’s breast cancer. The cancer is in remission, but the disease forced Robin to undergo a bone marrow transplant that kept her off the air for months.
After a “dry run” at work in January, Roberts was given the OK from her doctors to return to work later this month. Robin said Wednesday:
“What a difference a year makes. I cannot wait to return to my GMA family. It’s going to be an incredible morning in Times Square. The overwhelming thoughts and prayers of the viewers have played a major part in getting me here today. I cannot thank everyone enough.”
She later took to Twitter to marvel about her comeback:
“Heading to the beach to rest, reflect & count my blessings. XO”
