Robin Gibb is awake, alert and communicating with family members after spending the past week in a London hospital. One-third of the disco trio the disco trio the Bee Gees regained consciousness from a coma over the weekend.
Gibb, 62, is battling advanced stage cancer of the colon and liver and contracted pneumonia — which rendered him unconscious earlier this week. The “How Deep is Your Love” singer has been able to nod and communicate with his wife Dwina, daughter Melissa, 37, and sons Spencer, 39, and Robin-John, 29, according to his longtime spokesman Doug Wright.
He remains in intensive care.
Gibb’s twin brother and bandmate Maurice died of the same bowel condition in 2003.
