Rihanna’s “Umbrella” Makes History On The UK Charts
Rihanna’ new hit single “Umbrella” has secured the top spot on the UK charts based on download sales alone. She is only the second artist to perform such a feat since Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy,” but the first female.
“I can’t believe it, finally. I always stay at number two in the U.K., but thanks to the fans that get it, it’s a great thing. My first Number One in the U.K., it’s a great feeling. The single isn’t even in the stores yet, a lot of people have got it digitally, so thank you to them,” Rihanna says.
