Rihanna Comeback Concert Cancelled
Don’t call it a comeback just yet. Rihanna has shelved plans for a concert in Dubai later this month because the timing was “inappropriate,” a concert promoter in the Middle East announced Monday.
The Dubai gig would have been the “Umbrella” singer’s first performance since her former boyfriend, crooner Chris Brown, allegedly attacked in February.
“We put an offer across with a large amount of money, and it unfortunately did not happen,” Yassin Matbouly, managing director of Vibe Entertainment Management Agency, said in a statement. “We heard it was inappropriate timing for her to have a public concert.”
Rihanna, did however, make a comeback on the red carpet on Monday, arriving at the annual Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum Gala in New York City decked out in a tuxedo.
