Rihanna Chasing Role in “Scarface” Remake

Scarface is getting facelift. And guess what pop princess is vying for a big role in the new adaptation of Al Pacino’s cult crime classic…

Rihanna is apparently keen to be cast in the role of Elvira Hancock, the drug-addicted wife of notorious cocaine kingpin Tony Montana (Pacino). The role was played by actress Michelle Pfeiffer in the 1983 original and has long served as an inspiration for the award-winning singer, 24.

Now she hopes she’ll have a shot at her dream part when Universal begins production on its Scarface reboot.

“Rihanna loves Scarface,” a source told The Sun newspaper. “Some of her music videos have been based on Michelle’s character, Elvira. She knows all the words and even has her walk perfected.”

Rihanna made her acting debut in action blockbuster Battleship earlier this year. She’ll lend her voice to the female lead in the forthcoming DreamWorks animated feature Happy Smekday.
