Well this gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “Don’t Tell Me You’re Sorry, Cuz You’re Not!”

Apparently, us PopCrunchers weren’t the only ones not buying “Beat Down” Brown’s day late and dollar short public apology, released over the weekend.

Rihanna’s camp has declined to officially comment on Chris Brown’s apology statement, but sources close to the “Umbrella” star say she is “appalled” by Chris’ half-hearted gesture.

On Sunday, the “Kiss, Kiss” crooner released a statement saying he was “sorry and saddened… over what transpired,” but did not go into detail about the alleged assault, in fact, he didn’t even mention Rihanna by name.

“All of us, including Rihanna, don’t understand how he can say he’s sorry on the one hand, but still… does not admit any guilt,” Rihanna’s Barbados-based pal blabbed to the Chicago Sun-Times on Tuesday. “He should have expressed more contrition.”

The Rihanna insider told the newspaper that RiRi is “royally pissed off” by her ex’s statement, which the singer describes as “cavalier and arrogant.”

Chris is due in court in Los Angeles on charges of making criminal threats against Rihanna on March 5.
