Rihanna Album Sales Soar Following Assault
Rihanna’s album sales have soared following her alleged domestic attack at the hands of former boyfriend Chris Brown.
According to E! Online, sales for the singer’s multiplatinum-selling 2007 album, Good Girl Gone Bad, surged 31% this week, selling 25,000 copies in the U.S. and putting Rihanna at No. 31 on the Billboard charts.
Rihanna, 20, was allegedly attacked by Chris just before the 2009 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles earlier this month.
In the meantime, Chris’ 2007 album, Exclusive, failed to even register in the Top 200.

So, the question is, are the additional album sales just sympathy buys or are they from people who never had a clue who Rhianna was before the beating and are just curious enough about what she sounds like to buy a disk? I’d say probably the latter.
