Ricky Gervais will voice the lead character in a 13-episode animated cable comedy series based on his life early next year.

The Ricky Gervais Show is based on the British comic’s popular podcasts and will feature longtime collaborators Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington.

Gervais — who won an Best Comedy Actor Emmy for the HBO series Extras — created and starred in Britain’s The Office. His unique approach to comedy has made the funnyman an international star — despite his late introduction to stand-up at the ripe old ago of 40. He is also hosting NBC’s broadcast of the Golden Globes Awards on Jan. 17.

The Ricky Gervais Show will debut on HBO Feb. 19.
