Shia LaBeouf is reportedly seeking professional help after a meltdown during a showing of Broadway’s Cabaret prompted the troubled actor to spend a night in jail. X17Online reports that the one-time Disney child star checked into an undisclosed treatment center in Los Angeles Monday.
“We followed the actor from his Hollywood Hills home, just an hour ago, to a private facility where other stars have sought treatment — driven by someone believed to be from the rehab facility. When the car arrived at the gated drive to the center, a nurse and security guard were there to great (sic) Shia…”
After months of self-imposed exile, Shia disrupted a live theater production (cursing, shouting, slapping audience members on the butt) and had to be muzzled after spitting at arresting officers. He was detained, eventually released and now faces charges of harassment and disorderly conduct.
Earlier in the day, Shia, 28, was also spotted carrying The Big Book — the Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) Holy Bible, used to help members get back on the wagon. Shia isn’t exactly a stranger to the sobriety process. As a child, he attended a few meetings with his father. In 2011, he was spotted sneaking into a few Los Angeles-area AA meetings after a well-publicized bar fight with a stranger.
This, however, is the first time the star has been in in-patient treatment.
