And now for another story that’s giving us all a major case of The Sads this Friday….

Farrah Fawcett’s troubled son could not be with her when she died on Thursday, but the 24-year-old has been granted permission by prison officials to attend his late mother’s funeral, according to RadarOnline.

The Charlie’s Angel actress passed away yesterday after losing her three-year battle with cancer. She was 62.

Redmond O’Neal — the stunning actress’ only child — is serving time in prison for numerous drug-related offenses, but Commissioner Jane Godfrey has signed a removal order which allows O’Neal to attend his late mother’s Homecoming Service.

Redmond will be allowed to wear a suit rather than a prison-issued uniform to pay his final respects.

Redmond, who has long struggled with a crippling addiction to heroin, briefly visited with his then terminally-ill mother in April. His last contact with Farrah was in an emotional phone call from jail, his dad Ryan O’Neal reveals in an interview with ABC’s Barbara Walters this week.

“He told her how much he loved her and asked her to please forgive him, that he was so very, very sorry.”

I don’t understand why Redmond could not have been allowed to visit his mum more from jail. She loved him dearly and it was a punishment for her. I hope he doesn’t blame himself because I know his mother would not want him to think this way. So sad for Redmond that he could not be there for her..
