Queen Latifah Sits Down with Siri
You may not know her name, but you almost certainly know her voice.
Thursday’s edition of The Queen Latifah Show will feature the first-ever TV appearance of voice actress Susan Bennett — or, as she’s known to iPhone users, “Siri.” In the exclusive interview, Bennett reveals that she had chosen to stay anonymous until a story on a tech-news website reported that a different actress provided the voice of Siri, compelling her to set the record straight.
Bennett’s been in the voice-over business since the 1970s. She tells Queen Latifah that she originally made the recordings for Apple back in 2005, but was kept in the dark regarding the purpose of her work. It wasn’t until the release of the iPhone 4S that she first heard what she believed to be her own voice offering helpful instructions to users.
Bennett also discusses how her life has changed since she outed herself as one of the world’s most recognizable voices.
