Johnny Depp seems to be having trouble coming out of character. I’ve heard about this. It used to be a “real” problem with method actors: they would forget who they actually were when they got off stage. He’s quoted saying, “I’ve really come to enjoy spending time with [Captain Jack Sparrow], or as him, whatever it is. He’s definitely a big part of me.”
Johnny is even keeping his shiny choppers on camera for a while, though it sounds like he may simply be putting off the dental work. In the mean time we get to see him bumming around in his classic fedora showing off wretched gold teeth.

I read an article that Depp keeps the teeth in because putting them on and taking them off is a huge ordeal. Plus he is shooting Pirates 3 now, so he probably keeps the teeth in for that.
