Prince William Retires From Royal Air Force
New dad Prince William is leaving the British Armed Forces after seven years of service, Kensington Palace said Thursday. Will, second-in-line to the throne, will instead turn his attention to royal duties and charity work.
During his military service with the Royal Air Force, the prince performed 156 search and rescue operations, helping rescue 149 people.
So what’s next for a former military man? Well, in addition to working closely on the Royal Foundation — with Duchess Kate and Prince Harry — William is currently looking at “a number of options for public service.” And of course, he’ll have new son, Prince George, to keep him busy. The young family will be moving into their official residence at Kensington Palace sometime in the coming weeks.
