A young soldier (three years ago in a home video) used a nick name, as a term of endearment and now the bigots and closet racists are up in arms. Had he said “Taff” or “Jock” would it illicit the same response, I think Not. I sometimes feel that people (including the media) play on these none events blowing them out of all proportion in order to perpetuate racial tension by making ordinary people angry at the stupid remarks made by the PC brigade. The perceived loss of personal freedoms and perceived bias towards Black and Asian communities in this country is a real cause for concern not a bit of banter by a young soldier. The people calling for HRH Prince Harry to be vilified or even subject to legal intervention should tread very carefully as their words and actions are driving a wedge between the diverse communities of this country. Push hard enough and you will swell the ranks of parties such as the BNP! Tolerance works both ways. What a sad sad place we live in!!!
