President Obama welcomed the current NBA champions, Miami Heat, to the White House today.
LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade and the entire Heat team were on hand today for some accolades from the Commander-in-Chief. The President commended the team for their charity work, including their efforts at the Walter Reed Medical Facility, for military veterans.
The President also mentioned how important he thinks the Heat players are for taking their roles as fathers seriously. “For all the young men out there who are looking up to them over time, for them to see somebody who cares about their kids and is there for them, day in, day out, that’s a good message to send,” Obama said.
“We’re in the White House right now, which is like, like ‘mama I made it,'” LeBron James said, as the audience laughed and cheered.
