President Barack Obama poked fun at his own administration and took a few jabs at his critics in the media and the Republican party while comedienne Wanda Sykes has caused controversy with her biting remarks about conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh during the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner at the Washington Hilton Hotel in DC on Saturday.
The annual black-tie affair raises money to provide college scholarships for journalism majors.
“Where’s Michael Steele? There he is, in the heezy. Whassup?” Obama yelled, mocking the GOP leader’s frequent attempts at using urban slang to attract younger members. “Michael for the last time, the Republican party does not qualify for a bailout. Rush Limbaugh does not count as a troubled asset, I’m sorry.”
