Simon Cowell says he’s “close” to getting the President of the United States of America to appear on The X-Factor.

The British media mogul DJ tells Absolute Radio DJ Christian O’Connell that he is negotiations to have President Barack Obama appear on the U.K.’s smash singing competition.

“We’re trying to get him to do a show at the moment. He (Obama) was on the Tonight Show talking about how everyone in Washington is a critic and then he said, `Unfortunately they’re all like Simon Cowell.’”

“I’m not sure it’s a compliment but it’s a name-check.”
