Senator Barack Obama of Illinois made a sweeping victory at polls across America on Tuesday night, winning the 2008 Presidential election by an electoral college landslide.

“Change has come,” he told a massive crowd of supporters in Chicago.

The new President-elect and his VP running mate, Senator Joe Biden of Delaware, will take their oaths of office on January 20, 2009. Defeated Republican presidential candidate McCain remains in the Senate.
