Police: No Evidence Father Tried To Sell “Slumdog Millionaire” Star

Police in Mumbai, India say they have found no evidence to support claims that the father of a child star from the eight-time Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire tried to sell his daughter.
The mother of 9-year-old Rubina Ali had called the an investigation after British tabloid News of the World alleged that Rafiq Qureshi tried to sell her for $300,000 to journalists posing as a wealthy family from Saudi Arabia.
“So far there is no evidence of any offense, hence there is no registration of complaint and no arrest,” a senior police officer in India told Reuters on Wednesday.
Poor Rubina. Let’s hope the authorities can find a more loving environment for this talented young lady to grow up –at this point she’d be better off being handed over to be raised by a pack of wolves!
Certainly they’d be more civilized.
