Pink PETA Ad Campaign; Pink PETA Horse-Drawn Carriage Ban NYC

Pink has joined forces with animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to Central Park’s signature horse-drawn carriages. Pink will appear on billboards across NYC, urging New Yorkers and tourists to boycott the city tradition.
Pink tells the New York Daily News: “Every time I see these horses in New York City, it hurts my heart. “These horses aren’t taken care of at all – their hooves are made for grass and they’re forced to walk on concrete, and there’s fumes from all the Mercedes (traffic in the city), which the horses suck in all day long.”

Anytime an animal represents the well-being of it’s owner, the animal is treated as a family member. Without the good health and condition of that animal, the owner is going to be in trouble, thus, it is reasonable to assume that much is done to make sure these horses are in pristine condition and superbly healthy.
PETA is just looking for a reason to complain, as they are want to do. I cannot imagine how dumb you’d have to be to associate yourself with this organization, especially after something like this:

I see it all the time in NY and it hurts my heart every time… They are treated horribly – being hit by their owners, not being fed enough, not enough water to drink. Plus, the owners don’t care about how cold or hot it is, the horses are slaves to them.

Here in Shippensburg Pa there is a large community of amish. Shippensburg is a college town and these horses are made to pull these people through the streets daily, inhaling fumes from traffic and being forced to walk/run on blacktop daily. I was at a stop light one morning with an amish family infron of me, their horses front right foot was turned at a ninety degree angle permanently and yet they still use this poor animal for their mode of transportation. They tie them to light posts while in the stores with no water or shade for these horses. Many of them look underfed and overworked. Yet no one seems to notice or care because they are amish… I dont get it
