Larry King is hanging up his suspenders as the bespectacled face of CNN’s primetime lineup this fall, and British media titan Piers Morgan is just days away from stepping up to fill his shoes.

On Tuesday, both The New York Times and cited well-placed sources who dished that the former tabloid editor is inches away from headlining a talk show that will debut in CNN’s 9 PM time slot when Larry King retires his Larry King Live show in November, ending a 25 year run with the network.
