I have loved this classic story since I was eight years old and am appalled to hear of ALW making a sequel. Why are all the great love stories ruined?!! Just like Gone With The Wind, Phantom is taking a turn in the wrong direction. I cannot believe that there is going to be a continuation of this timeless story. I am a firm believer that some stories should not have sequels, they should be left alone. This is one of them. I love ALW and think he is so talented but am very disappointed in him for doing such a thing with his beloved musical. :-( I’m thinking two thumbs DOWN.

I have to say that I have a horrible feeling about this. “The Phantom of the Opera” is by far my favorite musical, as well as my favorite movie. I love it to death, but I feel that a sequel – particularly the one it seems we will be getting – would only serve to take away from the beauty of the original. I don’t think I’ll be seeing this one.

The Phantom of the Opera is by far my favorite musical of all time! I loved the movie almost as much as the stage performance which I seen twice in Toronto at the Pantages Theatre and once in Buffalo when it came to Shea’s. I am excited to see that Andrew Lloyd Webber in back at it again to continue the story of this masterpiece! I wish him and the new show all of the best success – can’t wait to see Phantom on stage again! Guess it’s time to plan a trip to NYC and who knows perhaps one day soon in a theater near you…
