In an attempt to cheer up his crack smoking pal Amy Winehouse, Pete Doherty has presented the beehived star with the belated Christmas gift of a kitten. Amy has decided to call the feline Lucky Seven, in honor of her jailed husband Blake Fielder-Civil.

“Amy nicknames him Blake’s 7, after the BBCsci-fi series they used to enjoy together. That’s how she came up with the pussy’s optimistic name.”

The cat is currently being looked after by Amy’s papa Mitch, until she returns from her cold turkey trip to Bryan Adams’s Barbados villa.
