PETA Offers to Foot Legal Bill for Kardashian Flour-Bomber; Khloe Hits the Roof

People for Ethical Treatment for Animals (PETA) has offered to pay the legal fees of the mystery woman who flour-bombed Kim Kardashian on the red carpet last week.

But the move has cost the outspoken animal rights group the support of the socialite’s sister.

After initially laughing off the attack, a livid Kim later decided that the mystery flour bomber shouldn’t be able to get away with what she’d done.

“I am just going to think about it, because I don’t want someone to think they can really get away with that. So we are going to handle that,” the Kourtney & Kim star told E! News.

PETA has denied masterminding the incident, which saw Kardashian doused with a bag of flour as she promoted her True Reflection fragrance at the London Hotel in West Hollywood last Thursday night. But now that Kim is considering filing charges over the humiliating assault, PETA has entered the fray, offering to pony up the dough needed to cover the unidentified assailant’s legal costs.

A spokesperson for the group told Celebuzz Monday:

“We don’t believe Kim would be so short-sighted as to go after this woman, but if she does, we’ll definitely look at how to maximize exposure to the cruel fur industry and that could mean defending the activist if she wishes. PETA is not speculating about who floured Kim and unfortunately we can’t say who sent us the video. How much better it would be if she decided to evolve and enhance her image by donating her vulgar furs and exotic-animal skins to the homeless.”

Well, that statement didn’t go over very well with Kim’s kid sis, reformed fur-lover Khloe Kardashian Odom. Khloe, who appeared nude in an ad for PETA’s “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” campaign in 2008, says she’s “absolutely disgusted” by the group’s behavior and flat out refuses to carry on as one of their spokesfolks.

“I’ve been a vocal supporter of PETA for a long time but I have also been very vocal about anti-bullying, so this was a huge disappointment for me. As you all know, I don’t condone violence and bullying and what happened last Thursday was just that. I am absolutely disgusted by their behavior. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions — I personally don’t wear fur but that doesn’t mean I am going to force my views on anyone else, ESPECIALLY by violating them. I am a very proud sister right now, because Kim handled last week’s incident like a champ. She got cleaned up and was back out there in a matter of minutes. Go Kimmie!”

Khloe is also convinced that the woman who flour-bombed her sister “has very close ties to PETA.”

She fumed on her blog Monday:

“Not only has PETA lied to the public, but they have proved that they support this kind of behavior. Bullying and harassment is NEVER a solution and I won’t be a part of any organization that thinks otherwise.”
