PETA Bristol Palin Baby Gift Basket
People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals, advocates for all things furry, feathered, or four-legged, have presented teen mom Bristol Palin with a baby gift basket for her infant son, Tripp.
The 18-year-old daughter of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and her “redneck” companion Levi welcomed the birth of son Tripp over the holidays. The animal rights group says since Tripp’s “grandparents never met an animal they didn’t like — to eat or shoot” — they opted to present Mom & Son with a few small items that promote a message of peace toward animals.
According to MSNBC’s The Scoop, Tripp will receive a “Give Peas a Chance” onesie and a “Animals Are My Friends” bib in the gift basket from PETA.
“Tripp will inherit a kinder and more compassionate world than the one his grandparents cling to,” PETA’s Michelle Cho wrote in a letter included with the gift. “There is a growing consciousness among people everywhere of how our actions affect those around us, including animals. Helping children understand that animals are living, feeling beings who deserve to be treated with respect and compassion will help them grow up to be kind, compassionate citizens.”
