(Disclaimer: I really hate to give this guy any shine after the little stunt he pulled in the moments after the death of pop legend Michael Jackson last summer. Sadly, I have to report newsworthy stories even when I’m not a big fan of the subject……)

Celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton predicted Brittany Murphy’s death during an promotional appearance on a San Diego morning radio show earlier this month.

The 32-year-old actress — best known for her appearances in box office hits like Clueless and Happy Feet –died early Sunday morning after going into full cardiac arrest in her Los Angeles home.

Perez — who is promoting his latest book — was discussing Michael Jackson’s death being the biggest story of the 2009 during an appearance on Star 94.1′s “AJ In The Morning” this month. During the chat, host AJ Machado asked Perez if there is a celebrity that he thinks is heading down the same path of destruction traveled by MJ.

“Brittany Murphy maybe,” the colorful gossip replied simply.

In a post on his heavily-trafficked blog, Perez offered further commentary on Brittany’s demise:

“Absolutely devastating. Especially because this comes as no surprise! We, and those who knew Brittany personally, saw this coming. That does not make this any less horrible.”

The controversial chatterbox has since blogged a warning to Lindsay Lohan and Courtney Love, cautioning the trouble-prone celebs to straighten-up before they suffer a similar fate.
