People Magazine Brad Pitt Angelina Jolie Twins Pictures Photoshopped

NY Magazine has sparked speculation that People Magazine photoshopped their $14 million cover shot with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s three-week-old twins, Knox and Vivienne, after discovering that newborns under the age of three-months “do not smile from exterior stimulation.”

NY writes:
In that cover photo, it looks like Vivienne Marcheline — clearly the Ashley half of this Olsen-like combo — is sporting a giant grin. She may even be laughing. Hold on. These babies are purported to be a mere 3 weeks old!
The style mag did some P.I work and after digging around Parenting Magazine discovered that “babies don’t smile from exterior stimulation until two to four months – even if said exterior stimulation is the most beautiful pair of humans in the entire world.”
(Maybe it was gas?)

My daughter was born 2 months early, and I have pictures of her smiling at 3 days old… With her eyes open. The muscles are functional even if the babies don’t mean for it to be a smile, and they DO smile in their sleep… all the time.

Omg!! Get over it already. Babies DO smile (even if involuntary). Leave them alone and let them enjoy the moment.

Babies who smile before the age of 3 months aren’t actually smiling…it’s usually gas…not in the case of my soon to be 1 year old son though…he was bright eyed and bushy tailed and smiling from the start. So I guess there are exceptions to the rule…and these beautiful children happen to be those rule breakers…

My son is 2.5 months old. He smiles at us and laugh occasionally. Even when he was only a couple weeks old, he would smile (reflexive). We have many pictures of these “gas smiles.” However, he has been smiling in response to a rattle/sticking out our tongues since week 6-7. I’ve heard a lot of babies can smile around 5 weeks. I believe that it could have been a smile as a result of a reflex (what most call gas). It’s hard to get them on camera, but they do happen.
