More trouble for Paula Deen as QVC announces “no immediate plans to have her appear” on the network.
On Friday, the celebrity chef was ousted from the Food Network after 11 years following her admission to using racial slurs and attempting to hire African-American waiters to act as “slaves” at a plantation-themed wedding she was planning.
Now comes news that Deen may also lose her deal with QVC, which sells her line of kitchenware. A spokesperson for QVC told TMZ they do not “tolerate discriminatory behavior” and have concerns over Paula’s “unfortunate situation.”
The rep went on to say:
“We are closely monitoring these events and we are reviewing our business relationship with Ms. Deen. In the meantime, we have no immediate plans to have her appear on QVC.”
In the meantime, a host of foodie fans are rallying behind Paula: Over 29,000 people joining a Support Paula Deen Facebook page.
