Paula’s got a new gig! Recently-unemployed American Idol star Paula Abdul has revealed that she will be hosting this year’s VH1 Divas Concert, live from New York City on Sept 17.

“Hi guys! im really excited 2 announce ill b hosting this year’s “Vh1 Divas”! The show will be live on Sept 17th @ 9 pm EST,” Paula wrote on her Twitter page Monday night. “This year’s VH1 Divas show will honor Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Jordin Sparks, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus- I am so excited!!”

This year’s previously announced “Divas;” Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis, Jordin Sparks, and Miley Cyrus; will perform together at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn, New York.

“A superstar diva in her own right, with sales of over 50 million records and six number one hits, multiple Emmy and Grammy awards winner Paula Abdul is set to host the “VH1 Divas” live concert event,” VH1 said in a statement Tuesday.

The Divas Concert 2009 will be televised live on VH1 Thursday, September 17 @ 9PM.
