This could happen. Kat McPhee is on the fast track to being dropped by Verve Records it looks like. She will be looking for a new label soon. Makes sense that Paula would be looking at her.

Awesome! If this is indeed true, this would be so great. I’m glad she’s doing this. There are so many former Idols who inspite of having great potential, have not been able to make it through. I would really like to see them make it big. And if Paula’s label can do it, that’s even better. Come to think of it, I would love for Paula to come out with her own music again too. She’s awesome!

Castina, but was the wondering about particular ex-Idols your words or the Enquirer’s, for the Paula and/or Kara articles? It seems like your thoughts in the Kara article about those ex-Idols, but I’m not sure. If they are, I’m just saying McPhee, Lewis, and Studdard are indeed signed to labels and Bo Bice and Taylor Hicks have their own labels.

And part of my point was just that the stories were so similar in terms of picking up ex-Idols. I found that funny.

And? What’s your point? This isn’t my story….it’s The Enquirer’s. If you have a problem with its validity, go to their website and take it up with them. I don’t start gossip, I just report it. Futhermore, the story about Kara’s reality show came from her own lips, so you can’t challenge its veracity.

This sounds pretty similar to a story you did just last month about Kara DioGuardi doing a reality show for dropped singers (see http://www.popcrunch.com/kara-dioguardi-reality-show-gives-dropped-artists-second-chance-at-stardom/). You even wondered about almost the same list of Idols getting another chance.

You do remember that Katharine McPhee is with Verve Records, Ruben Studdard is with Hickory and Blake Lewis is with Tommy Boy Entertainment?

Sounds good. She can scoop up some of those American Idol contestants who need help and probably get a bit of satisfaction after not being resigned, especially if they do well on her label. As for the ones mentioned here, hard to say if they would be candidates for Paula’s label. Taylor Hicks already started his own record label earlier this year (Modern Whomp Records) and released his new album on it – and is doing quite well. But there will probably be plenty others.
