In this evening edition of Bitch, Please!, American Idol’s resident wackjob is backing off recent comments she made confessing that she does not think the idea of four judges on American Idol is such a good idea.

In an interview with this week’s edition of OK! Magazine, Paula reportedly said that while she “gets along great” with Kara, she doesn’t think adding a new judge was what was best for the FOX show.

“We tried four judges before and it doesn’t work. It takes up so much time for each of us to give our opinion that it slows down the pace of the show.”

Paula is now crying foul, insisting she was talking about the presence of celebrity guest judges on Idol, not her old chum Kara. The often loopy Paula Abdul says that the quote was “taken completely out of context.”

“It is unfortunate that a quote of mine was taken completely out of context today,” Paula said . “I was actually referring specifically to the use of ‘guest judges’ in seasons past, NOT Kara [DioGuardi] or this season. I am thrilled to have her by my side each week on ‘American Idol.’”

Uh-Huh….How long do you think FOX gave Paula to retract her statement or face the unemployment line?

That’s why she should not grant interviews without a breathalyzer screening beforehand.
